subtlty is the word...

I wish i could photograph sound. because i really want to share with you the reason i didnt get any sleep last night, and infact, the reason i havnt got any sleep for the past few nights. the japanese, bless them, decided, that instead of just having a light, that told you when to cross the road, they would have a light, and a 15 second little jingle that blares out. one for crossing the road one way, then, when the traffic lights change, a slightly different little high pitched jingle for crossing the other side of the road... i remember saying to jade the first time we came here about how anoying it must be to live next to that junction... and now, my window is litterally next to the speaker responcible for the happy little tune. i can now perfectly recite both variations of the jingle. atleast i have my marble pillow to comfort me.....

this place is so boring in the evenings, its either pooring with rain or snow or some sick combination of the two outside... so iv resorted to engraving my notebook...

this guy was loving life, filming out the window the whole bus journey.. he will have about 20 minuites footage of mist. snowy snowy mist. as thats all that was outside today.

today i wanted to go back to the trails that me and jade had found the start off, and photograph them on the 5x4 and see if i could follow them/if they lead anywhere... it is a difficult time to do this because the snow makes visibility very low, wich makes finding the different parts of the trail very challenging... these caves are cool though, and a nice break from being frozen/soaked.

im assuming an animal did this? what kind of animals scratch bark off trees? anyone know?

the melted patch was where i sat for the 20 minuites it takes me to unload and reload my darkslides. i had an unbelieveably numb bum and numb feet... my boots seem to have stopped being quite so waterproof :(

i nearly fell down holes like this so many times today, im having to tread so carefully, because so many of them, like this one was ar covered by moss, that when you tread on jus falls into the gap. would be so easy to break my ankle. as it is it just takes me about 40minuites to move a KM as im having to take it so slow and carefully.

If in doubt, head north, that has got me out of being completely lost three times now!

i was in the forest from 10 untill half 4 today, i found nothing but the trails i was following, i managed to take quite a few photos that im happy with.. or.. atleast i think im happy with.. its so difficult to tell if my exposures are right.. i literally cant think of anything harder to expose than snow in a dark forest.. eugh.

YES a motherfucking supermarket. that sells food... as in.. real people food! im deffinatley stocking up tomorow (when im hopefully moving to a nearby hostel with a kitchen.. and people... who will hopefully converse with me to stop me going insane with lonelyness)

i miss jade and her addiction to fowl smelling curry noodles.

hahahaha... cos... cos its like... colon.. like.. cream colon.... no?.... not a fan?.... come on guys.....

  1. You never seen Bambi? Lots of herbivore animals that don't hibernate eat bark from what I can remember. Really enjoying your blog man, really looking forwards to seeing the final results.
